DRY NEEDLING COURSES
The new APA level 1 dry needling for Physiotherapists course meets national APA and AHPRA recommendations for physiotherapists to practice dry needling safely. The course has two online prerequisite components. The Safety in Acupuncture and Dry Needling (Safety in ADN) course written by Leigh McCutcheon, Paula Yacoub-Raymond and Tristain Chai must be completed prior to Part A of the Level 1 Dry Needling course written by Jane Rooney, FACP ( as awarded by the Australian College of Physiotherapists) Specialist Sports Physiotherapist and Dr Peter Selvaratnam, FACP ( as awarded by the Australian College of Physiotherapists) Specialist Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist. Part A is an online module exploring the theory, research and safety considerations of dry needling for musculoskeletal conditions and sports injuries. Passing the Part A online exam enables you to undertake Part B of the level 1 dry needling course which is an highly practical 12 hour course. The course is instructional in the safe application of dry needling for a variety of spinal and peripheral conditions and includes a comprehensive manual and needle starter pack.
